Datascope Launches New Patient Monitoring Network Interface for Electronic Medical Records
Panorama Gateway Product Strengthens Company's Position in Worldwide Patient Monitoring MarketMONTVALE, NJ--(Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network)--Sep 5, 2006 -- Datascope Corp. (NASDAQ:DSCP ) today announced the U.S. launch of the Panorama Gateway, a networked system component that interfaces the Company's Panorama Central Monitoring System, as well as standalone bedside monitors, to a Hospital Information System/Clinical Information System (HIS/CIS).
The Panorama Gateway enables hospitals to maintain a continuous and comprehensive history of a patient's clinical information through an electronic medical record (EMR). By providing an automated solution to electronically download patient demographic information from the HIS/CIS as well as upload patient vital signs to the HIS/CIS, the Panorama Gateway minimizes paperwork, reduces costs and decreases the potential for errors due to manual data transfers. Such errors could lead to incorrect drug orders, improper diagnoses and mistaken patient identities, which could ultimately result in patient complications or even death.

The Panorama Gateway's unique design incorporates flexible configuration tools and options, resulting in broad compatibility with most vendors' HIS/CIS using HL7 version 2.x messaging, the industry standard format for interfacing with HIS/CIS.
