Jeffrey Kao Named Senior Vice President of Sales, Clinical and IT Solutions at Hill-Rom
BATESVILLE, Ind., May 9 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- Hill-Rom, the health care unit of Hillenbrand Industries, Inc. (NYSE: HB ), announced that Jeffrey Kao has been named Senior Vice President, Sales, Clinical and IT Solutions.Kao's primary focus will be on further developing the Hill-Rom North America sales channel and integrating the existing product portfolio with new information technology applications software solutions, as well as with new clinical consulting, data analysis and change management services. These areas will soon be linked seamlessly to help customers extract more value from their investments in products and technologies.

Kao's background includes his most recent role as President & CEO of a software company owned by Accel-KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts). Before that, he was the Senior Vice President and General Manager of a $220 million unit of IDX, a leading health care IT solutions company, and he played a major role in its integration into GE after its acquisition in early 2006. Before IDX, Kao spent 15 years with GE in a variety of key leadership roles, including most recently a role with global P&L responsibility for GE Healthcare's Functional Imaging business, and earlier a role as General Manager for GE's Nuclear Medicine business. Prior to that assignment, Kao worked in R&D as the Quality Leader and Master Black Belt of 6-Sigma across all of GE Medical Systems' diagnostic imaging modalities including X-ray, CT, MRI, and Surgical and Vascular systems.
Kao has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, and a Master of Science degree in EECS from the University of California at Berkeley.
