Bard Promotes John A. DeFord, Ph.D., to Senior Vice President, Science, Technology and Clinical Affairs
MURRAY HILL, N.J.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--C. R. Bard, Inc. (NYSE: BCR ) announced today that at its June board meeting, the Board of Directors elected John A. DeFord, Ph.D., to the position of Senior Vice President, Science, Technology and Clinical Affairs, effective immediately.Dr. DeFord joined Bard in January 2004 as Vice President, Science and Technology. Prior to joining Bard, he was a Managing Director responsible for life sciences investments with Early Stage Partners, a Cleveland, Ohio-based venture capital fund. Previously, Dr. DeFord was employed by Cook, Inc., and held a variety of senior positions, including President and Chief Executive Officer. He earned a B.S. and an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Electrical/Biomedical Engineering, all from Purdue University.
